South Australia bed and breakfast accommodation in the Big Dry

South Australia is Australia’s most arid state. Many bed and breakfast tourists visit the South Australia to enjoy the quintessential Australian landscape which stretches upwards to the Northern Territory, to Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria in the east and to Western Australia in the west. By far the most inhabitants of the state live in the capital of Adelaide. Mostly the state is comprised of rocky plains and desert landscapes. Oddly enough these landscapes are broken by the fertile wine-growing areas, which include the Barossa Valley. In addition to these unexpected wine farms, there are great national parks for B&B, lodge and inn tourists to explore. These include the Simpson Desert and the Lake Eyre National Park with its enormous ’salt-sink’ and wilderness.

The clean and elegant city of Adelaide on the Swan River is known for supporting creativity and alternative art. It has dozens of lovely bed and breakfasts. Although it is not regarded as Australia’s leading state economically, South Australia still leads in innovation. It is host to some of the biggest worldwide challenges, from the World Solar Challenge to Tour Down Under. Make your South Australia bed and breakfast reservations in good time if you plan to attend any of these events. Not for nothing is South Australia called the ’Festival State’. The Adelaide Festival Centre is South Australia’s major performing arts venue and is the focal point for the biennial Adelaide Festival of the Art. The Adelaide casino is also a popular tourist destination and there are many B&B establishments, inns and lodges in the vicinity of the casino. Adelaide is a convenient base for touring regions such as the Barossa Valley and Southern Vales wine areas, the southern beaches and the tranquil Adelaide Hills. South Australia has some unique towns such as Mount Gambier, which is volcanic, and quaint Glenelg.

Many South Australia bed and breakfast visitors got to Wilpena Pound, a huge natural amphitheater with rocks protruding like human fingers. It is situated in the Flinders Ranges National Park. Any nature lover will discover South Australia to be a last of extreme natural contrasts – untamed outback wilderness, beautiful mountain ranges, a long and rugged coastline, offshore islands and a large, meandering river. The countryside ranges from the beach resorts of the Adelaide suburbs to the vast expanses of isolated, arid and rocky outback; from the gnarled mountains of Flinders Ranges to the meandering Murray River. This is Australia’s longest river and its lakes are a major asset offering luxury cruise vessels, self-skippered houseboats and recreational pursuits.
