Nevada bed and breakfast accommodation you can bet on

Nevada is a state built on great fortunes and great dreams. Your host at your Nevada bed and breakfast is likely to have many tales to tell about gambling and mining for gold and silver, the industries on which Nevada is built. Nevada is located in the western region of the United States of America. The capital is Carson City and the largest city is Las Vegas. The state's official nickname is "The Silver State" due to the large number of silver deposits that exist there.

Nevada is the driest state in the US. In fact most of Nevada is just uninhabited desert. But where there are cities they are vibrant and Nevada B&B, lodges and inns are as plentiful as the rain is rare. The state stretches from the Mojave Desert in the south to the Great Basin in the north. Nevada has a high government presence’ about 86% of Nevada’s land area is controlled by the US Federal Government under a number of jurisdictions, including the military. Many visitors to Nevada bed and breakfasts are connected to the military or other government departments.

Most of Nevada’s 3 million inhabitants reside in and around Las Vegas and Reno. In 1931 divorce and gambling were introduced inNevada and these became the basis of Nevada’s repute. For many years, Reno and Las Vegas were the US’s divorce capitals. With divorce now easily available in most other states Nevada lost that distinction, but it is still the gambling capital of the US and famous for live entertainment. Many gamblers stay in Nevada bed and breakfast accommodation.

Nevada was originally made famous when the Comstock Lode, the richest known U.S. silver deposit, was discovered in 1859. Mining is a major industry, producing with silver, copper, zinc, lead, mercury, barite, and tungsten, but gold now far exceeds all other minerals according to value of production. Many names of many Nevada B&B lodge and inn reflect Nevada’s mining background.

Apart from Reno and Las Vegas, recreation areas include Lake Tahoe, Pyramid Lake, Lake Mead and Lake Mohave. The latter two are both in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Other attractions are Hoover Dam, Virginia City, and Great Basin National Park where the Lehman Caves are situated. There are Nevada bed and breakfasts in and around all of these attractions, including rustic bed and breakfast establishments in ghost towns.
