Hawaii bed and breakfast accommodation for the cost-conscious tourist

Everyone wants to take a vacation in Hawaii, “The Aloha State” -- and the wise visitor knows that Hawaii bed and breakfast accommodation is the best way to make the most of the holiday of a lifetime. The Hawaii group of islands include Honolulu, Kahoolawe, Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai and Niihau. Visitors to the islands are usually told by their B&B hosts that the islands were first visited by Europeans in 1778 by the English explorer Captain James Cook. Believe it or not, he named them the Sandwich Islands after the English Earl of Sandwich. After a long and turbulent history, Hawaii became the 50th state to join the union. That was on August 21, 1959. Today it is a favorite vacation destination for US residents and overseas visitors, with the result that Hawaii bed and breakfasts, inns and lodges are widespread and plentiful. There is lots of business activity apart from tourism in Hawaii so business people make use of bed and breakfast establishments as well.

Sugarcane and pineapples, which are grown mainly on large company-owned plantations, are the major agricultural products and the basis of the islands' large food processing industry. Macadamia nuts, greenhouse vegetables, papayas and coffee are also produced, along with beef and milk. Commercial tuna fishing is significant, attracting bed and breakfast trade. There are also important US military installation on the islands with visitors to these accommodated in Hawaii B&Bs, lodges and inns.

Hawaii is the only US state in the tropics and is often called "the paradise of the Pacific" because of its great natural beauty. There is abundant sunshine and lush green foliage and brightly colored flower proliferate. Hawaii is probably most famous of all for its palm-fringed coral beaches with rolling white surf. Visitors are alsoamazed by the cloud-covered volcanic peaks that rise to spectacular heights. Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa are volcanic mountains on Hawaii Island; Haleakala volcano is on Maui in Haleakala National Park. Visitors include photographers, nature lovers and of course romantic couples, many of them on honeymoon. Hawaii bed and breakfast businesses are very diverse, with packages available for every style and budget. Thanks to the growth of the Hawaii bed and breakfast industry, the state offers the finest variety of accommodation in the USA, supported by great dining, tours, sports events, theatre, cultural events & entertainment, night life, attractions and sightseeing.
