Delaware bed and breakfast perfect for quick business trips

Business people are major users of bed and breakfasts in this “The First State” of the USA. Because of Delaware’s liberal corporate laws, more corporations are headquartered here than in any other state. That is probably the best-known fact about Delaware but it is also a fact that tourists and vacationers find a lot to do here, which is another reason so many B&Bs, inns and lodges do good business.

Delaware is a water-rich state, located on the Atlantic Coast in the Mid-Atlantic and Southern regions of the United States. Much of it borders the Atlantic Ocean. Its southern beaches and beach towns and villages including the famous Rehoboth Beach are a draw for tourists. Theseare home to many Delaware B&Bs.  Delaware is even named after a body of water -- Delaware Bay and River, which were named for Thomas West, 3rd Baron De La Warr who lived in the 17th century. It is a small state with a population of less than one million, but it is densely populated as it is small.

Northern Delaware, away from the water, has a strong list of cultural attractions. Visitors at many B&Bs are there to see Winterthur's collection of 85,000 pieces of early American decorative arts and some or all the galleries of Dover's Biggs Museum of American Art. Delaware is an incredible repository of early American paintings, furniture, pottery, stained glass and more. With its lakes and nature trails, hiking routes and fishing holes, Delaware's fourteen state parks provide outdoor opportunities for visitors of all ages.

Your bed and breakfast host will be quick tell you that Delaware’s nickname is “The First State” because it was the first to ratify the United States Constitution. Before that, it was the only colony to be claimed by Sweden, Holland and England. And before that, there is some evidence that Egyptian explorers found their way to the state. As far as is known, there were no bed and breakfasts for them to stay in at that time.

Given its compact size and many things to see, Delaware can provide travelers with a lot of activities in just a few days' time. Delaware bed and breakfast accommodation is the perfect option for visitors who want to see as much as possible in the shortest possible time. Those with a week or more can stay and B&Bs, inns and lodges. They will find the Delaware shore a relaxing place to stay.
